The Witch’s Secret

Per tradition, I wrote a one-shot D&D adventure for my co-workers during our Fall meetup this year.

The player characters are residents of the city of Krayina Tiney, a city plagued by monsters for one month out of every year. This has led to a robust organization of witches, warlocks, and monster hunters who protect the citizens during the “Shadow days”. The leader of the organization has hired the party to help with an important mission: they think they have a way to banish the Monster King, which would greatly reduce the danger during the Shadow days, but there is a missing ingredient. The party must discover the Monster King’s true name from the only being who knows it: a long-dead witch named Pani Zora who once nearly defeated the Monster King herself.

This adventure was loosely based on the novel Foul Days by Genoveva Dimova and is set in a fantasy region with distinctly Slavic roots.
